Bible Verses Supporting Theistic Evolution
Evolution can be a stumbling block for those who are seeking God. Are we mere creatures that have evolved, or have we be made by God, in the image of Him? It is a fundamental question that should be asked. Is it a theory anymore or is it a fact, we should explore all possibilities to have a balanced view of one of the most asked questions of all time ‘where did I come from?’
These two views are contrasting and most people on earth will know the story of evolution more than the Bible creation story. Both should be given the same voice for examination. From the fundamental question before to the next most asked question throughout time, ‘why am I here?’
With any argument, both sides must be heard for someone to give a reasoned answer. These questions would have got a different answer from the majority of people if we lived in another century. Is this because we have advanced as a civilization through technology. On the face of it, we progressed, but family values and interaction is not what it was.
Adam and Eve: Creationism
Man and woman were created on the sixth day of the creation week. God said, ‘let’s make man in our image, according to our likeness’. This gives us a close connection to God, knowing that we are like Him. God then gave us control over the animals and blessed us. We were told to be fruitful and multiply. God saw all that He had made was ‘very good’, it was only till sin entered in, that things went off course. Genesis 1.26-31
It is in chapter 2 of Genesis that we get another account of the creation of man and woman. The second account of the story gives greater understanding to the first.
Adam was formed from the dust of the ground and then was given life by God, with the breath into Adam’s nostrils and this breath made him a living being. God then warned Adam about the tree of knowledge and evil. It is not good for man to be alone, so God made him a partner in Eve. The two were formed to become one flesh, making them complete, together. Genesis 2.7-23.
Both accounts of the creation of Adam and Eve, give us a clear indication that man and woman were like God, He is life and that life was given to us. The events give an idyllic picture of what it used to be. This account of creation can also give us a glimpse of what will be in the future;
I declare the end from the beginning,
and from long ago what is not yet done,
saying: my plan will take place,
and I will do all my will. — Isaiah 46:10 (CSB)
Evolution Theory
The scientific explanation for man is evolution, we, homo sapiens evolved from apes. The order of events are;
- The world is 4.54 billion years old
- Life started from RNA not DNA 3.5 billion years ago
- Single cells were feeding on methane – 3.46 billion years ago
- Apes split from old world monkeys 25 million years ago
- The first Hominidae was 15-20 million years ago
- First modern-day human 70-100,000 years ago in Africa
- The first Language 50,000 years ago
This is a brief timeline of the events from the theory of evolution. There are a couple of key points that aren’t addressed. What were we before we were primates? Pro-primates of course. And before that, rodents! Humans – Apes – Rodents. The second question is, they still haven’t found the link between humans and Apes.
Difference between humans and Apes
The DNA difference between a chimpanzee and a human is 1.2%. In the list of top ten closest relations, in place, number 9 after the primates is a cat, with a difference of only 10%. Although there is only a 1.2% difference between the genes of an ape and a human, this amounts to 40 million differences!

The missing link: Ape to human
Darwin, the founder of the evolution and the Origin of Species never mentioned the evolution of humans to apes. He rarely mentioned the reason for the evolution of mankind, instead, he addressed animals.
Why have not all apes evolved?
Primates have existed for 700,000 more years that us humans, but still have not grown or advanced as we have. But surely in regions of the earth where there are primates living that have not been affected by humans, would there not be changed.
From one part of the world to another, you’d think we’d see some change. We find apes in Brazil and Indonesia, which is too long of a distance for them to interact, but there is little change.
“The reason other primates aren’t evolving into humans is that they’re doing just fine,” Briana Pobiner, a paleoanthropologist at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., told Live Science.
There is no good reason that primates have not evolved, like us or in any other way. The idea of evolution is to change and this is the definition of evolution;
The process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth.
Adaptation to surroundings
A case that is brought against creationists, is that we have found bone remains that are different than the ones that exist today. These changes can certainly happen over a period of time. We can see this in our life when one person works a particular job, their body shape adapts to the circumstances.
This is the same case with the features of a body. In colder climates, the nose is more pronounced with nostrils downwards, but in warmer climates, the nostrils are open and upwards in order to take in the oxygen.
Animals can survive on different diets, a lion can live on grains and vegetables and refuse meat, just in the case with Little Tike. This change in diet would change their bodies over time and it makes them less aggressive. A chipmunk traditionally eats nuts but they can often be seen eating roadkill.
Human Bones
The oldest human bones that have said to have been found in Morocco. They are thought to be around 200,000 years old! But as we have discovered in the article Young-Earth Proof, radiometric dating gives wild ranges for dates depending on, formation condition, contamination, and decay rate.
Volcanic rock in New Zealand that was formed 50 years ago was dated to be 3.5 million years old!
Rate of Bone Decay
According to this report, when you are buried in your coffin your bones will turn to dust after 100 years. Here we read that bones can decay in cooler climates in decades and in warmer climates for thousands of years. The decaying process depends on the climate, in cooler climates bacteria will destroy the bones, whereas in hotter climates there are fewer bacteria.
A bible verse that sums up the decay of bones;
19 You will eat bread by the sweat of your brow
until you return to the ground,
since you were taken from it.
For you are dust,
and you will return to dust.” — Genesis 3:19 (CSB)
Giants of the Past
Human bones have been found across the world and they range from 7 feet to 14 feet tall. The average male height today is 5 feet 9 inches. So why would there be remains of skeletons that are a lot taller than we are today? Does this go against the theory of evolution or does it point to the Nephilim? Just a few cases where giant bones were found;
- Castelnau 11 feet 6 inches tall
- Ecuador 7 to 8 feet tall
- America 7 feet 4 inches tall
- Rome 6 feet 8 inches tall
Ancient Megalithic Structures
One big question that still goes unanswered, why are there so many megalithic structures discovered around the world? There are buildings that we cannot build today with our own hands, we would need technology.
We know of the obvious cases, like the Egyptian pyramids. They were built using blocks that up to 10 tonnes in weight and it had 2.5 million stones in around 2550 BC. Stonehenge was built 5,000 years ago with some stones coming from 140 miles away, with stones as tall as 30 feet.
An obelisk has been found in Egypt, that is 137 feet tall and weighing 1200 tonnes! All over the world, there are great monuments from the past, built to a gigantic scale with human hands. Their calculations are so precise, we are amazed at what they accomplished without the technology we have today.
Is this the work of primitive humans or the work of the Nephilim?

Evolution vs Adam and Eve
After looking over the evidence there is no clear indication that we evolved. When we hear the statement evolution, it should be followed with the word theory. From the missing links from apes to humans, lack of evolution in apes, testing of the bones, and megalithic structures.
The Bible gives us a clear indication that we were formed in the image of God, with His life shared. We can be sure that science has some answers but not against the word of God. Professor Louis Bounoure, Director of Research, National Center of Scientific Research so rightly stated:
“Evolution is a fairy tale for grown-ups. This theory has helped nothing in the progress of science. It is useless.”
Scientists’ Quotes on Evolution
Sir Arthur Keith wrote the foreword to the 100th edition of Origin of the Species) said, “Evolution is unproved and unprovable.”
Malcolm Muggeridge, the famous British journalist and philosopher said, “I myself am convinced that the theory of evolution, especially the extent to which it’s been applied, will be one of the great jokes in the history books of the future.”
Dr. T. N. Tahmisian of the Atomic Energy Commission said, “Scientists who go about teaching that evolution is a fact of life are great con-men, and the story they are telling may be the greatest hoax ever.”
Science Religion
For instance, look at this new discovery: “Palaeontologists have discovered a new skeleton in the closet of human ancestry that is likely to force science to revise, if not scrap, current theories of human origins”
After that Reuters reported that the discovery left “scientists of human evolution…confused,” saying, “Lucy may not even be a direct human ancestor after all.” In truth, evolution isn’t “scientific.”
It’s a theory said Dr. Kent Hovind, an authority on evolution has a standing offer of $250,000 for anyone who can give him scientific evidence that evolution is true. Evolutionists should take him to court.
Religion of Science
They could make this another ‘Scopes trial’, a case wherein 1925 a teacher was found guilty for not teaching the theory of evolution theory. All they have is faith in the theory. In fact, evolution qualifies as a religion. The dictionary says of the word “religion”:
“A set of beliefs concerned with explaining the origins and purposes of the universe…”
However, evolutionists even have their own religious language:
“We believe, perhaps, maybe, probably, could’ve, possibly…”
Their founding father of the faith is Charles Darwin. Their god of the religion of evolution is “nature,” often referred to by the faithful as “Mother Nature.” She is the one who is responsible for everything we can see in creation.
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served what has been created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen. — Romans 1:25 (CSB)
Idolatry
In conclusion that’s why evolution is so appealing. It is called “idolatry” (making up a false god) and it is a transgression of the First of the Ten Commandments. Microevolution is observable, while macroevolution takes a great leap of blind faith. If Christians had as much faith in the Bible as evolutionists have in the theory of evolution, we would see revival.
Like, little children, they believe without the need for a thread of evidence. Above all evolution doesn’t disprove the existence of God. It just reveals that those who believe it are truly capable of faith in the invisible. It confirms Napoleon’s observation: “Man will believe anything, as long as it’s not in the Bible.”
